May 11, 2011 -- Today, Minister Jim Flaherty addressing the Council of the The Government of Canada is focused on completing the economic recovery. The global economy remains fragile, and that is why the Government will implement its low tax plan for jobs and growth. As part of the Government's plan, the Finance Minister is in Washinton, D.C., to promote Canada as an economic leader in the world. Since July 2009, Canada's economy has created over 530,000 new jobs and the economy has grown for six straight quarters.
