General Description
This riding in the "Golden Horseshoe" in southern Ontario was redrawn and renamed in 2004. It is a mix of urban and rural communities, including Ancaster, Westdale, Dundas and Flamborough. Primary employment sectors include manufacturing, health and social services, retail trade and agriculture. Average family income is $89,428 and unemployment is four per cent.
Boundaries
Consisiting of that part of the city of hamilton lying westerly of a line described as follows: commencing at the intersection of the southerly limit of said city with Glancaster Road, thence northely along said road and its intermittent production to Gamer Road East; thence easterly along Garner Road East to the hydroelectric transmission line situated westerly of Upper Paradise Road; thence northerly along said transmission line to highway No. 403; thence generally northeasterly along said highway to the Desjardins Canal; thence easterly along said canal and continuing due east in Hamilton Harbour to the northerly production of Queen Street North; thence northerly in a straight line to the northerly limit of said city.
